While most of my cake smash sessions happen in my studio in Downtown Martinez, some families opt to have these milestone sessions in their own home. When doing this, it’s common to add this on to coverage of baby’s first birthday party.
Why Choose an In Home First Birthday Cake Smash?
While there are many benefits of having the cake smash photos done a few weeks before the birthday party in the studio, some parents opt to add on a cake smash to their baby’s birthday party! One of the biggest benefits to doing this is that the whole family gets to join in the fun!
These photos are a more documentary style – I will photo graph the whole thing, from lighting the candle, to your guests singing to your baby. Then the grand finale – you baby diving into their first birthday cake! Not only do your guests love to watch and video this fun moment, but we can take a few photos with all the extended family that might not be around every day!
Jenn Chen is a family, maternity and newborn photographer in the Walnut Creek area. While she works with families of all sizes, she specializes in working with young children and toddlers (she has a 2 and 4 year old of her own!). Jenn has been photographing families since 2017 but has had a passion for photography since she was a child. Jenn has a photography studio in downtown Martinez which is currently open for newborn sessions and children’s portraits.
Jenn is a member of NAPCP and as of 2024 was recognized as a “Master of Family Photography” based on her current portfolio. Jenn is also a member of Nikon Professional Services.
