Graduation Photos Downtown Martinez, CA
It’s no secret that downtown Martinez is one of my favorite spots! Not only is my studio right in the heart of downtown, it’s one of my most requested locations for senior sessions! Most of my seniors usually do two looks for their graduation photos. They typically do some classes cap and gown photos for the memories, and then a more casual look for a more modern feel.
While some locations might have a more masculine or feminine aesthetic, this downtown location really can fit so many styles! Some of the streets are light and bright and go perfectly with the classic white graduation dress (check out Lulus for some of my favorites)!
Meanwhile, downtown locations are by far my most requested location for the guys! Take a look at another senior session in downtown Benicia. While the white dress is so popular for senior girls, the guys sometimes opt for a casual look featuring their college logo. While this might look out of place if the location was a meadow or in the mountains, this is the perfect vibe for a downtown Martinez session!
This session happened to be for these siblings, so we took the opportunity to get some shots of them together as well! This would also make for a fun location for best friends or a small group to have senior portraits done together!
Finally, can’t have a senior session without a fun shot or two!
Booking Your Senior’s Graduation Photos
Most graduation photos are done in the early spring. This will give you enough time to have the session, get your photos back, and order graduation announcements before graduation day! Waiting too late to book can cause extra stress as they might be prepping for finals or have other year end parties and commitments! Jenn Chen is a family, maternity and newborn photographer in the Walnut Creek area. While she works with families of all sizes, she specializes in working with young children and toddlers (she has a 2 and 4 year old of her own!). Jenn has been photographing families since 2017 but has had a passion for photography since she was a child. Jenn has a photography studio in downtown Martinez which is currently open for newborn sessions and children’s portraits.
Jenn is a member of NAPCP and as of 2024 was recognized as a “Master of Family Photography” based on her current portfolio. Jenn is also a member of Nikon Professional Services.
