Cake Smash Photos – Walnut Creek
Cake smash photo sessions are quick, easy and tons of fun! When booking your photo session, you’ll have the choice to have them done in my studio in Downtown Martinez. There are a few things to consider for each, so I’ll go over a few details!

Cake Smash Clean Up
The best reason to get your baby’s first birthday cake smash photos in a studio is that you don’t have to worry about the clean up! Bring your baby, bring the cake, and let the fun begin! Once the smashing is over, I’ll have a box of wipes and tons of towels for you to get cleaned up, and then I take care of the rest! No having to worry about wiping up all that sticky frosting!
Getting Your Cake Smash Photos
The other benefit of a studio session is you can get this done a few weeks before the actual birthday party, and have the photos back and on display at the party! Plus it takes a little pressure off you and your baby on party day.
Performance Anxiety
While this varies baby to baby, but many little ones might get nervous when surrounded by all the guests at their first birthday party. In the studio, we can take our time and it will be just you and your family, and I’ll be there to capture all the fun!
Custom Setups for Your Baby’s Cake Smash Photos
Since you might have a particular theme or vision, I can swap out for a variety of different backgrounds to suit your needs! Just let me know if you are doing a particular theme for the cake smash, or if you’d like the classic white curtains! Either way, I’ll help you choose a beautiful look once you book your session!
In Home Cake Smash Sessions
There are some positives to booking your baby’s cake smash photos in your own home as well! You can allow your party guests to watch which could be fun if you have a smaller party. Another option is to do the cake smash just before the party, and have only immediate family watch the actual cake smash. This is a benefit if there are grandparents that might like to enjoy the fun! I travel within 30 minutes of the Walnut Creek area for these in home photo sessions.
Which Cake Smash Photo Session To Choose?
While I find most clients prefer to have their cake smash photos done from the studio, it’s really a matter of what your goal is! If you’re on the fence, trust me, the fact that you won’t have to clean sticky frosting off your floors is huge! With you’re soon to be toddler, you probably have enough cleaning daily 😉

While she works with families of all sizes, she specializes in working with young children and toddlers (she has a 2 and 4 year old of her own!). Jenn has been photographing families since 2017 but has had a passion for photography since she was a child. Jenn has a photography studio in downtown Martinez which is currently open for newborn sessions and children’s portraits.
