First Communion Photos – Walnut Creek

If you’ve followed my journey, it’s no surprise that I’ve been busy with my new Martinez Photography Studio! I had the special honor of taking special first communion photos for a local family last week!

If you are planning to use your children’s studio portrait session for first communion photos, please make sure to let me know! I make a few adjustments to the studio lighting to get this beautiful graceful effect. Another option I offer is photos on location at your church the day of the ceremony.

Personalize your First Communion Photos

While many of the poses will be traditional, I love when families bring little touches to personalize their sessions! Bring a family rosary that has been passed down, or family heirloom Bible. I will take photos of these little details to truly immortalize this special occasion for your family.

Studio vs Church Photos

Which option you choose depends on what your goal is. If you’d like timeless photos and something to put on an announcement card or invitation, a studio session is the clear winner. If you’re goal is to celebrate and document the day, and incorporate some family into the photos, then consider a session the day of the ceremony at your church. For families choosing to book both options together, please contact me directly. I can create a custom package for your needs.

First Communion Announcement Cards

One very popular use for these photos is for invitations for the ceremony itself. If this is the plan, please make sure to keep in mind timing. Most sessions take 1-3 weeks for delivery of the final images. To make things even easier, you are now able to order cards or prints right from your online photo gallery. This cuts out a step for you! Bonus – the quality will be unmatched! I use a professional print lab which means your prints are on archival quality paper and will last 100 years!
