Spring in Lafayette – Green Hills and Flowers All Around!
One of the most gorgeous locations for spring photos in the East Bay is right in Lafayette! Being somewhat central between Oakland and Walnut Creek, it a spot I love recommending to many families!
With just a short walk up hill, this location is fairly accessible to most families.
As the hills turn green in the spring, beautiful soft yellow flowers pop up all over the hills! The mustard flowers are a favorite every spring and Lafayette has one of my favorite wildflower fields to photograph!
Planning a Session?
Just a few things to note if you choose this location:
- Bug Spray (this one’s my favorite for little kids)!!! Any of the wildflower fields tend to attract mosquitoes as the sun sets. This one is especially bad on hot nights.
- Accessibility – While the hill isn’t huge, I always proceed with caution when recommending this spot to pregnant mamas. While the walk up isn’t long, it will get your heart rate up! Also, strollers would not be recommended here.
- Timing – Being at the top of the hill, starting your session 45-60 minutes is ideal. Because of the altitude, this spot is actually quite gorgeous a few minutes after sunsets, but also gets harsh light earlier in the evening.
